Why do you need to do a refresher course
From 1st April 2025 anyone renewing their SIA Security Guard or SIA Door Supervisor Licence will need to do a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 Course, plus a Refresher Training Course. The Security Guard Refresher is a 1 day course, and the Door Supervisor Refresher is a 2 day course. There will be multiple choice exams at the end of the course.
You can renew your licence up to 4 months before it expires, so please ensure you book your training in advance to guarantee a space on the course and time to renew your licence. Please note you can do your refresher training at any time before your licence expires.
Certification
It can take up to 10 days for the qualification to be released after completing your exams. Your details will then be sent to the SIA ready for you to apply for your renewal licence
